UGLY Models is the world leading character models agency, established in 1969 which many of their models and actors featured movies, adverts and the list is long. We have been working together since 2006, after winning a design competition. The competition was to design a website that would reflect the uniqueness of the agency. Mark French (Managing Director) and his team loved the design so much that it was pushed forward to be used as well for their biannually catalogue cover. That was beginning our long relationship, which has seen the UGLY Models website restyled every 2 years since and their RAGE Models website as well. The way that content was managed on the site has been optimsed to allow the team to have full control over editing models details at any time.
Grafity and brick wall theme - 2006
Where it all started, with some graffiti on the wall inspired theme in 2006 that was used for the cover of the next catalogue and followed up by building a new website and implementing the design and theme.
At this time it was all about pushing the styling of the web, taking CSS to the edge and stretching it as far as possible.
Billboard and road signs theme - 2010
Stamps inspired theme - 2013
One of the most used sets of images used to represent the agency. It has been used in their catalogue, on websites and in documentaries.
The idea came, as being an amateur philatelist that showing the characters faces on a stamp and usually stamps comes in series, that multiple images could be used. To follow through on the website for the theme we had envelopes and letters.
